About the project
After the success of Prestwich Clough Forest Garden, we are embarking on a second one at Philips Park. An edible woodland will emerge in an area which was opened out after an old beech tree fell down. This forest garden was started in 2018.
We will be planting fruit and nut trees, fruit bushes, herbs and other perennial edible and useful plants, mimicking a young woodland.
The remains of an old house is on the site, but it has now been excavated by the local archaeological society and the area made safe.
We meet weekly on a Saturday, and you’re welcome to join us.
