Radcliffe update, plus new hotels for the area

Hello and welcome to the Incredible Edible Radcliffe site update!

For those of you that are yet to find us, we are located off Belmont Road in Radcliffe, just on the outskirts of Outwood. We’re just at the end of a row of storage containers.

As with many things, the past 12 months have presented challenges in progression of the site. However, we’re delighted to have made great headway over the past few months since the initial ground preparation which started in 2019.

Having secured a water source and sorted the drainage, we’ve created and planted a multitude of beds. Not ones to boast either, but we have not one but three ponds, and with the help of the pupils at St John’s Primary School have managed to get a number of whips planted and created frog and hedgehog hotels.

There are days we stand back in amazement at the number of changes to the site. There is still lots to do and plenty of ideas being generated. Over the coming weeks and months, we plan to develop a forest garden and install seating and benches to make the site more accessible and more inviting for people to use.

Our volunteer numbers are increasing, but we are certainly open to welcoming more. You can follow us on Instagram: @incredibleedibleradcliffe and get more regular updates about when we meet on our Facebook page.

Weather dependent, we meet on Sundays between 12-2pm, and very much look forward to seeing new faces soon, whether that’s to help out or simply enjoy the company.
