We had a very good turnout from the regulars on Sunday and we also had two (unrelated) new helpers completely out of the blue as well as Ben who’s still working with us for his Duke of Edinburgh award. A hive of industry!
We harvested potatoes from the first two beds and shared them out between us as well as doing some general tidying up. The mange tout are cropping well now. As usual the strawberries have been popular. A few of the smaller veg and herbs have died or been taken before their time but we’ve managed to keep up the watering when needed and on the whole the beds are looking good. There are quite a few gaps to fill now the spuds have gone of course.
Judging by the weather forecast we’ll be having to keep up the watering but luckily some of us live near enough to keep on top of it and we’ll all be back again on Saturday 10th July.
